In this section, for each episode, I detail which characters were the villains of the episodes. Most of the villains had major roles for at least one of the episodes, and were clearly villains.
Judgment
The Tribunal
The Tribunal is a medieval court known by the name of the Cahair Binse (Chair of Judgment). The ancient law states that grievances shall be settled when two battle to the death. In the case of this episode, a woman carrying a special child is being forced to face the Tribunal to determine whether her life and the life of her child shall be taken. Many are after the woman's life, but protection from a Prio Motu demon named Kral kept her safe. Angel made the mistake of killing the demon and was then left with the responsibility of protecting the woman from the Tribunal and any who sought to take her life. A talisman must be presented to the Tribunal before the person or a champion for the person on trial fight to the death. At the last minute, Angel arrives at the trial with the talisman and saves the pregnant woman by killing the warrior demon opposing him.
Are You Now or Have You Ever Been
Thesulac
Thesulac is a Paranoia demon that feeds on people's fears and uncertainties. He whispers to persuasively to people, surviving off of their fear and anxiety that is produced. Back in the 1950's, Angel encountered this Thesulac demon haunting a hotel and the people within it. While he attempted to save a young woman and other hotel guests, he eventually gave up and left the hotel to be tormented by the Thesulac. Nearly 50 years later, Angel returned to the hotel and called on his friends and co-workers to help him perform a raising ritual and kill the Thesulac. The demon is a giant and not exactly pleasant looking creature that floats above the ground. Along with it's power to play with people's thoughts, the Thesulac also has deadly tentacles used for weapons when it has taken a form that can be seen. The demon was killed in this episode when Angel attached one of the demon's tentacles to an electric box.
First Impressions
Darla
In this episode, we see the beginning of Darla's villainous actions. While Angel sleeps, she manipulates his thoughts, distracting him and keeping him from being at the top of his game. She has yet to actually fight, and has only appeared a few times in reality, but her presence has had a negative effect on Angel. From what we've seen so far, it's clear that in the future, her attacks will only get worse. Darla was raised from Hell by Wolfram and Hart and the underground warrior, Vocah. Although disoriented at first, Darla was slowly brought to understand the time of the 21st Century. Darla is Angel's sire, played by Julie Benz, and Wolfram and Hart intend to use her as the ultimate weapon to destroy Angel.
Deevak
Deevak, portrayed by Alan Shaw, was a large and very unattractive demon that made the mistake of causing trouble in Gunn's part of town. With the help of Angel and friends, Gunn tried to get information about Deevak from a snitch named Jameel. Jameel chickened out at the last minute and Gunn was forced to go get his answers elsewhere. After Cordelia allows Angel's car to be stolen, Gunn helps her find it. After tracking down Desmond, who stole the car, and finally finding the car, Gunn and Cordelia also find Deevak. Deevak grabs Gunn by the throat, but then he shifts into human form, revealing himself to also be Jameel. Cordelia sprays Jameel with mace just before Angel and Wesley arrive to help kill Deevak and his minion vampires. Bethany
Bethany Chaulk was a young girl who was both villain and victim. Portrayed by Daisy McCrackin, she suffered through much of her life. As a child, she was abused by her father which led to her unwanted powers of telekinesis. When scared or angry, Bethany moves things with her mind without thinking about it. One night, two men attacked Bethany but their intentions of raping her were changed when Bethany moved a large dumpster, smashing the men into a wall. While Lilah from Wolfram and Hart attempted to guide Bethany, Bethany turned to Angel for help and guidance and she learned to control her power. Lilah sent Bethany's father to cause Bethany to loose control, and it worked. Bethany had the opportunity to kill her father, but she was able to control her power and keep him alive. Later, Bethany left Lilah and severed her connections with Wolfram and Hart to pursue a life she was in control of.
Wolfram & Hart
Lilah, took Bethany under her wing, eventually planning to teach her to trust Wolfram and Hart and to use her powers of telekinesis for the benefit of evil. In a test of her powers, Lilah sent two men to follow and attempt to rape Bethany. Bethany's fear led her to make a 2-ton dumpster smash the men into a wall. At first, Holland was supportive of Lilah's work with Bethany, but then it endangered other projects and had to be stopped. Furious that Angel had yet again ruined her plans, Lilah ordered Bethany's father sent after her. Abused as a child, Bethany's father was a trigger to her powers and his appearance caused her to loose control. Fortunately, she was able to regain control and keep from killing her own father at the last minute. Read more about the men Bethany killed in Deceased.
Dear Boy
Turfog
Cordelia gets a vision with unclear details that eventually sends the gang to an underground location that was once a convent. Angel's frighteningly extensive knowledge of convents provides them all with more than enough information. When they arrive, they spot Turfog, a Thrall Demon and a large group of cloaked men fighting with each other. The Thrall demon holds power over the men and forces them to fight and eventually kill each other. When intruders arrive, the demon orders the men to attack. Despite the lack of help from Angel, Gunn imbeds his brand new ax into the head of the Thrall demon, killing it, and forcing the men to stop fighting. Wolfram and Hart
Although now human, Darla hasn't given up her villainous intentions. With the help of Lindsey, Darla hires an actor to play her husband as she pretends to be a normal human, DeEtta Kramer. Darla haunted Angel's dreams with memories of his past, then truly began to drive him crazy as she appeared all over Los Angeles, denying who she really was. She then attempted to set Angel up for murder by having her actor husband killed just in time for Angel to appear on the scene. Angel avoided the cops and managed to kidnap Darla. Secretly a wizard and receiving most of his money from the industry, Bryce intends to offer his daughter as a ritual sacrifice to a Davric demon named Yeska. Industry rivals, Lanier makes it his mission to see that Bryce does not receive power from the ritual of sacrificing his daughter. While Bryce thinks a vampire with a soul (who cannot have sex) is protecting his daughter, Angel is actually with a fake swami (who works for Lanier), seeking guidance. Lanier informs Bryce of this, Wesley is caught, and the ritual continues. However, when Yeska appears to take Virginia, she proclaims Virginia impure and disappears. Despite what Bryce thought, his daughter was not a virgin and could not be sacrificed. Lanier was portrayed by Patrick Killpatrick and Yeska was portrayed by Danica Sheridan.
Darla
Vampires
In the beginning of the episode, the Master took Darla's life and made her a vampire. He later delivered a beating to Angelus when Darla first presented her unruly child before her sire. While Darla, Angelus, Spike and Drusilla all acted in villainous ways, it wasn't enough for them to be separated. As a group, they did more damage and proved that as they wreaked havoc across continents. Through time, they murdered and massacred entire villages and towns. Even after Angelus was cursed with a soul, Darla, Spike, and Drusilla continued to cause trouble. Angel even joined them in 1900, desperate to try and be a true vampire. Darla didn't fall for his act through, and after he proved he couldn't be an evil demon, the two parted.
Wolfram and Hart
Despite all of Lindsey's work with Darla, he was still betrayed by the firm. Holland Manners had plans for Darla that he didn't notify Lindsey about. While Lindsey believed that Darla would be killed, Angel saved her like Holland expected. Their plan was not to make Angel evil again, but for Angel to make Darla.

Thieves
A group of demonic and not-so-demonic being team with a flashy vampire, Jay-Don, and a human hired to be the driver for a robbery. They plan to steal the Shroud of Rahmon from a heavy tomb kept in a vault. While the Shroud holds a great deal of power, no one seems to be aware of the fact that the shroud drives people crazy. They break into the vault and steal the tomb, stopping along the way for several fights. Angel and Gunn are at each other's throats, and although he doesn't kill her, Angel even goes as far as biting Kate when she shows up on the scene. Bob was portrayed by Robert Dolan, Menlo was portrayed by W. Earl Brown and Tony Todd was Vyasa. For information on the thieves that were killed in this episode, view the Deceased section.

This sends Darla out in search of any vampire that is willing to bring her into their world again. Angel gets in her way and is willing to sacrifice his life to save her. Later, after Angel's attempts failed to give Darla another chance at life, Wolfram and Hart lawyer, Lindsey shows up to present Angel and Darla with a special present, Drusilla.

Reunion
Darla & Drusilla
After a traditional rising, Darla returns to the world of the undead. Confused, she fights the change at first, but quickly gets back into the game. Darla and Drusilla hit the town, shopping for new wardrobes and killing the shopkeepers. Holland and the firm couldn't be happier that the vampires are together and painting the town red, simply because they still believe they are still in control of the situation. Holland and other lawyers celebrate at a wine tasting in Holland's house, but the party is cut short when Darla and Drusilla make appearances. Although Angel arrives as well, all the mental torment has changed him and he locks the cellar doors, the fate of the lawyers in the hands of two hungry vampires. He forces information out of Merl as to Darla and Drusilla's whereabouts, then learns of the vampiresses' plans. Once he discovers the location at which the two are gathering potential demonic warriors for their gang, Angel gets there first to destroy them all. Darla and Drusilla arrive at the factory, only to find all the demons dead and Angel waiting for them. Darla calls out to him, by both his names, but as a non-verbal answer, he drops his cigarette into a pool of gasoline that sets the two female vampires on fire.

Boone, played by Mark Rolston, offers to take care of Angel for Wolfram and Hart, and Lindsey and Lilah were fooled by the demon. At a fund-raiser for Anne's shelter, Angel sneaks in with Boone's assistance. While Anne plays a tape for the crowd that the lawyers first believed to be something to humiliate them and Angel explains that he was just messing with them, Boone sneaks out with all of the money and jewels that have been donated. Later, the two fight with a bag of money and jewels worth about 2.5 million reserved for the winner. Find out information the deceased of this episode.

Angel attempts to inform Anne of the truth and presents her with a tape to play at the fund-raiser that will prove the lawyer's evilness. Fortunately, Angel's own scheming got the money away from the law firm completely, embarrassing the lawyers for their failure.

Instead of killing her, Cordelia lets Harmony go, warning her never to return.
Doug Sanders
Doug Sanders (Pat Healy) is a motivational speaker-turn-vampire. Despite becoming one of the undead, Doug didn't stop in his mission to motivate people. He created a pyramid scheme for vampires in which recruits bring two humans in to make into vampires and one for the "food bank" (a cage of humans). His methods allow for vampire followers to don different colored robes for each level of success they reach. When the Angel Investigations team finally discovered Doug's location, a fight broke out. Dead End
Wolfram & Hart
The Wolfram and Hart funded Fairfield Clinic is responsible for the main evil of the episode, providing people connected to Wolfram and Hart with body parts when they are needed. In traditional conniving Wolfram and Hart fashion, Nathan Reed (Gerry Becker) knowingly arranges for Lindsey to have an operation and receive a new and special hand. Only after the hand transplant has occurred does Lindsey find that the hand came from that of a murderer, Bradley Scott. When Lindsey realizes that with the new hand, he will be promoted. Bored, he flipped out during a meeting, shooting a security guard in the foot and causing destruction, blaming it all on his "evil hand." Steven DeRelian was Bradley Scott. Find out information the deceased of this episode.
Belonging
Director
Cordelia lands her first national commercial, selling a product by means of minimal clothing and cleavage. Suffering from food poisoning, Cordelia faces severe scrutiny from the director, Seth. He insults her appearance, nearly getting his head ripped off by an angered Angel. He proves himself to be worthy of a villain title for this episode as he makes it very clear he's just interested in using Cordy's body, not her acting abilities. Kevin Otto portrayed the cruel director.
Drokken Demon
Released into L.A. through a dimension portal, a man-eating demon known as the Drokken enjoys the selection of humans. Eager for food, it hunts and kills two men on the street. With a metal collar around Cordelia's neck, Valkma shocks Cordy with electricity when she doesn't obey. Valkma was portrayed by Susan Blommaert.
Constable
Although he's just doing his job, the Constable (Brian Tahash) is a strict, rude, demon with no toleration for anything that looks human in Pylea. He encounters Cordelia, Angel, Wesley, Gunn and the Host throughout the episode and all of them are clearly not welcome to be anything more than slaves or dead bodies for display. Although the Constable has no choice but to accept Cordelia when her visions lead to her being made Princess of Pylea, poor treatment was still an option for the others. He was certain that the guys would be sentenced to death for their "crimes," but fortunately, Cordelia saw that they were pardoned. Find out about deceased of this episode.
Through the Looking Glass
Silas
Silas, one of the priests in Pylea was portrayed by Michael Phenicie. After Cordelia was appointed princess, it became the job of the priests, primarily Silas to see that she did things the way she was supposed to. Cordelia and a Groosalugg demon are supposed to "com-shuk" or mate, but despite Groo's gorgeous appearance, Cordelia doesn't just do what she's told. Furious that Cordelia believes she is more in charge than the priests, Silas decides to arrange for a message to be sent to her. He has the Host's head to be chopped off and brought to Cordelia on a platter.
Angelbeast
Angel's altered state in Pylea poses as a huge problem when he turns into a vampire. Although the perks allow him to be in sunlight and see his reflection, when he vamps, the demon takes complete control of his body. A spikey, green demon appearance and a fierce attitude made the hero a villain. He attacked two guards trying to return him to the palace, viciously biting into one of them. Later, he went after his friends, Wesley and Gunn in the forest. Gunn was wounded badly in the battle, but Fred came to the rescue by offering blood to distract Angel. The dramatic change had a huge effect on Angel, making him think he could never return to L.A. after his friends really saw what he was. Find out about deceased of this episode.

Silas tries to force Cordelia and Groosalugg to mate, but a battle challenge from Angel to the Groosalugg interrupts that. The evil priest then lies to Groo to make him angry and kill Angel. Silas then attacks Cordelia in a rage, hitting her and throwing her into a bookcase. Fortunately, he meets his end when Cordelia recovers. Find out about deceased of this episode.

The captain is restrained and kept for questioning while Fred supposedly rolled the other guards off a cliff into a Drokken gully. After Angel learns information from the captain, he prepares to save his friends, but the captain breaks free of his bindings and attacks Fred with a knife. Angel then returns the favor and stabs the captain in the gut. The captain was portrayed by Lee Reherman.
